The Mimosa Gigabit NID is a sleek and cost effective surge protector, or arrestor, which has increased reliability with additional protection for electical systems alongside their established GDT's (Gas discharge tubes), reliable grounding point for any installation requiring Ethernet cabling, and is designed for exterior wall mounting, poviding outdoor technician access. A shielded CAT6 or 6A ethernet cable goes into the NID, and then another CAT6 or 6A ethernet cable goes inside the house, or to the bottom of a tower, into a PoE injector.
